PDF Dark Mode is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.
PDF Dark Mode does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your browsing history, PDF content, keystrokes, or precise identifiers.
The extension operates locally within your browser and processes PDF rendering settings directly on your device. The only data that ever leaves your device is the Pro license information described below.
Activating a Pro license sends your license key plus a coarse browser tag (browser family and operating system only, e.g. chrome-windows — never versions, history, or page contents) to Lemon Squeezy for activation. The tag becomes the label of that license instance in our Lemon Squeezy dashboard so Pro usage can be understood by browser. No notice is shown in the extension itself; this policy is the disclosure.
To keep Pro status accurate, the extension re-validates a stored license with Lemon Squeezy (at api.lemonsqueezy.com) roughly every 24 hours while the browser runs. Each check sends only the license key, its instance ID, and the instance label. If the network is unreachable, validation is skipped and Pro features stay enabled — a failed connection never revokes a paid license.
The web reader at pdf-dark.com/reader.html processes PDFs entirely in your browser. Uploaded files are never transmitted to a server and are discarded from memory when you close the page.

This information is stored locally using browser storage APIs. Only the license record described above is ever transmitted, and only to Lemon Squeezy for activation and validation.
PDF Dark Mode may provide local-only usage summaries inside the extension popup for user convenience.
No browsing history, PDF content, personal information, or usage data is sent to external analytics services.
Pro payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record.
Payment information is handled directly by Lemon Squeezy and is subject to the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy. PDF Dark Mode does not store credit card or banking information.

Permissions are only used for extension functionality and not for advertising or tracking purposes.
PDF Dark Mode relies on Lemon Squeezy for payments and license management (see above), and may link to external websites such as GitHub or browser extension stores. These services operate independently and have their own privacy policies.
PDF Dark Mode is not directed toward children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or operational improvements.
